The Music House for Children is fundraising for a new carpet throughout the school. A local firm will put colourful, hardwearing carpet tiles in every room, create a sparkling new reception floor and brighten the long corridor – all for £1,700 inclusive.

Can you help? A fun-walk, play, run, concert or cake making scheme would be an incredible support, as would a singathon, smileathon or even a drawathon.

Every penny you have in change would be amazing.

We will also be going to the Chiswick Carboot sale on 4th June. We are asking all families, teachers and friends to donate items such as books, toys, clothes, jewellery and household items.

On Tuesday 4th April we our lovely Early Years teacher Val ran our workshop Hum and the Elephant for Addison Community Champions. It’s always great to receive positive feedback…

“Val was amazing! Adults were very impressed and children appeared to be having a great time – the ‘squeak-tometer’ was at full blast but there were also some lovely moments of quieter engagement She has a remarkable range of entertainment skills. But what I noticed, in particular, was her ability to suss out and very quickly turn-around non-engaging or hyper-active kids – without missing a beat! Thank you for bringing her to us.”

Emma will also be doing a workshop on Friday 10th February at 11:10am

The workshop will be action packed involving activities to enhance vocalising, communication and life-skills in young children with emerging or additional needs. Instruments, sound making and movement are all part of the experience, with thought provoking ideas and downloadable songs to take away.

Emma has just returned from an incredibly successful three day, action packed training project for early years teachers and teachers working with profound additional needs in Lebanon.

The Orphan Welfare Society is a remarkable enterprise established in the 50’s, and running successfully as a sustainable enterprise supporting up to 800 children and young people with a range of learning difficulties and need.

Emma’s task was to up-skill the workforce so they can deliver music sessions in support of musical learning, communication, language, sociable engagement and life skills. Here is more information from a local newspaper, click here
