Music Club 3-6 year olds

“We are so pleased with the progress Luc has shown in his years at The Music House. He really loves his music appreciation class.” – Music House Parent

Babies and toddler music sessions evolve seamlessly into more structured music appreciation classes in small groups of approximately 8 children. For the first time young children are encouraged to sing, move and play instruments independently of parental support.

With Kodaly and Dalcroze influences [PDF], The Music House works with key musical elements of tempo, pitch, dynamics and rhythm embedded with regular activities involving pulse.

Musical games through dancing, solo playing, circle and storytelling are immersed in weekly sessions that challenge children’s aural perception and encourages independent composition. Musical learning is reinforced with delightful resources such as puppets, appropriate instruments, ribbons, picture based flash cards.

Traditional and world songs as well as The Music House’s own compositions are interspersed throughout the term to encourage a rich and diverse introduction to pre-instrumental learning.

Students from the Royal College of Music and others regularly visit our music appreciation classes to demonstrate a range of instruments from bassoon to cello.

Our music appreciation classes take place in Shepherds Bush
